Ferndale Park is 5 miles from Windsor Great Park
The royal parkland stretching over six miles from Home Park at Windsor Castle, through Windsor Great Park all the way down to Virginia Water, offers a number of beautiful walks. Many of these routes enable you to drink in either the amazing views of Windsor Castle from the Long Walk, or the majesty of the royal Red Deer Herd.
There are a host of wonderful cycling and walking routes around Windsor Great Park. Perhaps start your exploration at one end of the Long Walk, and spend an afternoon making your way up to the town. Visit the Windsor Great Park website to find out more…
For less trekking and more exploring: at the southernmost tip of Windsor Great Park, a little further from Ferndale Park, lies Virginia Water, with its spectacular Leptis Magna Ruins. These were created from stones taken from ruins in Libya, so that George IV could create his own ruins.
