How to decorate the perfect Christmas tree…
Do you prefer a real Christmas tree or an artificial Christmas tree? Do you throw on the decorations and hope for the best? Or, do you like to create a perfectly colour-coordinated, symmetrical display of baubles and ornaments?
Having a real Christmas tree really is going the whole festive hog, from choosing the perfect one to placing that finishing piece on top. But honestly, it can be a right faff hoovering up pine needles every day! On the other hand, artificial trees come in all shapes and sizes and decorated well can look just as magnificent in all their festive splendour. Come Christmas day, you don’t need to worry about it looking a bit on the bald side.
When we bought our first Christmas tree, we were a bit tight for space. So, we bought a pre-decorated, space-saving pop-up tree. I have to admit, I turned my nose up slightly. As a youngster I was the chief tree decorator, I loved spending time decorating every inch of it. I fully believed it looked as good as the captivating Christmas tree displays of John Lewis but looking back I’m not sure this was totally true.
Since then, I have grown to love our little pop-up tree and every year, out of its box it still comes. The only problem is that it is quite tall and thin, and each Christmas our parents gift us with a new ornament. We end up playing a precarious game of Christmas tree jenga, trying to place the ornament on the tree in the hopes that this is not the year it will collapse!
For me, the best way to decorate the perfect Christmas tree (real or artificial) is with laughter and happiness and one (or two) mince pies!
From everyone at Greenfords Ltd, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
