Merrywood Park is 40 minutes’ drive from Guildford
Guildford is a vibrant, beautiful city set into the North Downs with spectacular views of the rolling hills from almost anywhere on its picturesque cobbled high street.
Great Shopping
There are three covered arcades boasting the best of British high street shopping, including a newly refurbished Westfield Centre called The Friary.
The historic main street will leave you spoiled for choice with upmarket stores such as House of Fraser, Russell and Bromley, Jaeger, Heals and a smorgasbord of lovely cafés and restaurants for when you’ve shopped yourself starving! Pedestrianised alleys run off the high street, offering a choice of independent specialist shops.
Dining Out
Olivo
Housed in a beautiful historic building dating back to the 1660s, Olivo is a superb family-run Italian restaurant, with a menu incorporating the best of modern and traditional Italian cuisine.
The Weyside
The Weyside free house pub is a special find, on the bank of the River Wey, just at the bottom of the high street. Whether it’s sitting out on the terrace on a warm day, or snugly seated in the impressive vaulted conservatory, they serve lovely food with relaxing views of the river to suit a quiet meal for two or a group of you…
Entertainments
Guildford boasts an excellent theatre – The Yvonne Arnaud – with its own small studio space – The Mill. In addition to this, an Odeon cinema offers Seniors discounts on selected screenings.
Guildford Spectrum Leisure Centre provides masses of active family day choices for your favourite visitors – ice skating, bowling, swimming and water slides. If it’s a warm day, there’s even a giant public paddling pool in Stoke Park!
